Pro-coalition Hadramout governor humiliated at Riyan Airport

HADRAMOUT, Nov. 27 (YPA) – A local source revealed on Wednesday that Hadramout Governor loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, Mabkhout bin Madhi, was reportedly humiliated at Riyan Airport in the provincial capital, Mukalla.

According to the source, Bin Madhi was preparing to depart for Abu Dhabi when Emirati officers allegedly prevented him from leaving, forcing him to return after the UAE authorities withdrew their approval for his visit.

No official statement has been issued by the governor’s office to explain the reasons behind the travel restriction.

It is worth noting that since 2016, UAE forces have closed Riyan Airport to civilian flights, converting it into a joint military base with US forces in the Arabian Sea

Since taking control of the airport under the pretext of combating terrorist elements from Al-Qaeda, which reportedly disappeared within hours of UAE forces entering Mukalla, the UAE has maintained control over gold mines and other rare mineral resources along the coastal districts up to the present day.
