Islamic Jihad: The military operation in West Bank aims to displace residents and seize their land

GAZA, Nov. 26 (YPA) – The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement said on Wednesday that the large-scale military operation carried out by Israeli forces in towns and cities across the occupied West Bank since this morning represents “a new systematic aggression” against the Palestinian people, describing it as part of a Zionist plan to displace the West Bank and seize residents’ land and property.

In a press statement, the Movement said the latest Israeli aggression coincides with aggressive efforts in the Knesset to pass legislation paving the way for annexation, including a bill that would allow settlers to claim ownership of occupied land.

It added that the escalation also comes amid internal disputes within Israel’s military establishment, which the group said Israel is attempting to cover through its attacks on the Palestinian people.

The group asserted that the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which it accused of relying on “wars and massacres” for its political survival, is a “government of war criminals” whose members should be held accountable.

It concluded the statement by saying: “Our Palestinian people and their resistance forces will confront these crimes with full strength and determination as the world continues to ignore them.”
