ANKARA, Nov. 25 (YPA) – Turky’s Milli İstihbarat Teşkilatı (MIT), or National Intelligence Organization of Turkiye, in cooperation with the Istanbul police, conducted on Tuesday a security operation against a spy network linked to the UAE intelligence service.
Turkish sources said the spy cell aimed to collect personal information about Turkish defense industrial enterprises and some sensitive names within the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
According to the information, some members of the network purchased local GSM chips and transferred them to the UAE for use in intelligence communications.
The sources also indicate that the number of suspects may reach three or four people, but no detailed official data has yet been released on the place of their arrest or prosecutions against them.
So far, there have been no official statements from the prosecutor general’s office in Istanbul or from the Turkish intelligence service about the details of this operation.
