ADEN, Nov. 25 (YPA) – Informed sources revealed a renewed conflict within “the Presidential Leadership Council” loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in Aden, stemming from intense competition to nominate a woman for a high-ranking position in the “Salim bin Burik” government.
The sources stated that the heated dispute involves three of the council members. Rashad Al-Alimi, president of the council, nominated “Shafiqa Saeed Abdo Al-Wahsh,” the aunt of former prime minister Maeen Abdulmalik. Tariq Saleh, a member of the council, nominated another woman from Taiz governorate for the same position. Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, a member of the council, put forward a third nomination for a woman loyal to him from Dhalea governorate.
The sources criticized this “feverish race” among the council members for positions and gaining personal loyalties, without disclosing the nature of the disputed position.
