“Israel” issues military order to seize 77 dunams east of occupied Jerusalem

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Nov. 24 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation issued a military order on Monday to seize more than 77 dunams of Palestinian-owned land in the towns of Al-Za’im and Al-Issawiya, east of occupied Jerusalem.

Palestinian media sources reported that the targeted land belongs to dozens of residents from the two areas.

The sources explained that the new seizure orders are part of systematic Israeli policies aimed at controlling large areas surrounding East Jerusalem, as part of expanding settlements and strengthening the settlement project.

In this context, the Jerusalem Governorate confirmed that the military order issued by the occupation army, which stipulates the seizure of 77,608 dunams of land in and around the town of Al-Issawiya, constitutes a dangerous escalation in the annexation and Judaization policies targeting the governorate.

It stated that the order was issued under the so-called “Seizure Order No. 152/25,” noting that the occupation justifies the move under the pretext of military needs, while it actually aims to implement a strategic plan to expand settlements and connect them, within the framework of implementing the E1 plan and the Greater Jerusalem project.

The Governorate explained that the occupation claims that 42,632 dunams of confiscated land fall outside the scope of “state lands,” while 34,976 dunams were classified as “Israeli state lands,” including areas of Al-Issawiya.

It emphasized that these military orders are used as a tool to impose control over Palestinian lands under security pretexts, before later transferring them to serve settlement projects, including the construction of bypass roads and the expansion of settlement blocs and outposts surrounding Jerusalem.
