GAZA, Nov. 21 (YPA) – Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem accused the Israeli occupation army of increasing its demolition of residential buildings located beyond the yellow line east of the Gaza Strip, which constitutes a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement.
Qassem called on mediators to take serious and urgent action to stop these violations, noting that the continued escalation undermines the foundations of the existing agreement and increases the state of tension in the region.
Simultaneously with these statements, Palestinian media outlets in Gaza reported that the Israeli occupation army continued its demolition of a number of residential buildings in the eastern areas of the Strip, accompanied by artillery shelling that targeted the town of Al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis.
These developments come amid a fragile truce, which reinforces fears of a wider escalation on the ground and raises questions about the extent of the Israeli occupation’s commitment to the terms of the agreement, at a time when international and regional parties continue their efforts to solidify the ceasefire.
