MUSCAT, Nov. 19 (YPA) – The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, returned from a visit to Muscat on Wednesday, where he held talks with senior Omani officials, including the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Sheikh Khalifa Ali Issa Al-Harthi.
The visit aimed to review the latest developments in Yemen and advance the UN-led mediation efforts.
Grundberg expressed his gratitude for the Sultanate of Oman’s unwavering support, stressing the importance of regional and international coordination to help pave the way for a political settlement.
The UN envoy also met with the head of the Sanaa negotiating delegation, Mohammed Abdul Salam. The two sides also focused on the need to create a conducive environment for a constructive and inclusive political process.
