Senior Iranian official accuses IAEA of providing information to “Israel” about nuclear fuel plant

TEHRAN, Nov. 17 (YPA) – Iran’s nuclear programme chief, Mohammad Eslami, revealed on Sunday that the first site attacked by “Israel” during the military escalation between the two countries was a fuel production plant for Tehran’s research nuclear reactor.

This came during Eslami’s speech at the conference of International Law in the Context of Attack: held in Tehran, where he said: “The first site attacked by Israel was the fuel production plant for Tehran’s reactor, and the information about it was in the possession of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).”

The Iranian official wondered, “When you have a room in the building for conducting tests, and you have equipped it with the help of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and this very equipped room becomes the target of a strike, how can such a precise strike be directed except with information from the International Atomic Energy Agency?”

Eslami pointed out that the research nuclear reactor in Tehran, for which the targeted factory produces fuel, produces radioactive medicines.

“The night of June 13, Israel began military attacks against Iran, alleging the execution of a secret military nuclear program,” he added. “The targets included nuclear facilities, military leaders, nuclear physicists, and airbases.”

Iran denied these accusations and responded with strong attacks, and the exchange of strikes between the two sides continued for 12 days.

The escalation also saw U.S. intervention, as Washington had carried out an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities on the night of June 22, to which Tehran responded with a missile strike on the Al-Udeid U.S. Air Base in Qatar.
