Displaced families’ tents flooded amid heavy rain in Gaza

GAZA, Nov. 16 (YPA) – Gaza Municipality reported on Sunday that the tents of displaced families in the Gaza Strip have turned into flood zones over the past two days due to recent heavy rainfall.

Maher Ashour Salem, Gaza Municipality’s Director General of Planning, explained that although the winds were not strong, several tents were uprooted, leaving families exposed to the harsh weather elements.

Salem called on all relevant authorities to intervene urgently to provide dignified shelter, noting that the municipality has repeatedly requested the entry of additional tents.

He also emphasized the need for heavy machinery and spare parts to accelerate repairs of roads and infrastructure, highlighting that the sewage system in Gaza is currently non-functional.
