Hebrew media: Militia accused of stealing aid prepares to rehabilitate Rafah

GAZA, Nov. 14 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation forces-supported armed militia is preparing to take on the tasks for rehabilitation of the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, in a move that has sparked widespread debate about the nature of these maneuvers and their actual objectives.

The Hebrew channel ‘Kan’ reported that the militia known as the ‘Popular Forces,’ led by Yasser Abu Shahab — a figure previously accused of drug and contraband trafficking — has received approval from the Israeli occupation government to begin facilitating rehabilitation activities in areas under Israeli military control in the Strip.

According to the channel, two Israeli sources confirmed that there was a plan to assign this militia the task, despite admitting that the Israeli government lacks a clear vision regarding the future of armed groups opposed to Hamas within Gaza, especially amid increasing talk of an imminent withdrawal of the occupation army from the Strip.
