Mass rallies held in Tehran to mark “National Day of Combating Global Arrogance”

TEHRAN, Nov. 04 (YPA) – Mass popular rallies commenced this Tuesday morning in the capital, Tehran, to commemorate the “National Day of Combating Global Arrogance”.

Iranians observe this day, which marks the anniversary of the 1979 takeover of the US Embassy by pro-Revolution Iranian students, and the subsequent detention of 52 American diplomats for 444 days.

On Monday, the Islamic Propaganda Coordination Council had called on the Iranian people, especially students and pupils, to participate “extensively” in these events. The council emphasized that these rallies “embody the spirit of steadfastness and resistance in the face of the global arrogance forces,” describing the day as an “eternal national epic in the history of the Islamic Revolution.”

The demonstrations are witnessing broad participation, reflecting the official and popular commitment to the principles upon which the revolution was founded.
