Laqmoush tribes call for emergency meeting in Shabwa

SHABWA, Nov. 01 (YPA) – Tribes and sheikhs in the Khabar Laqmoush area of ​​Habban district of Shabwa province issued on Saturday an urgent call for a broad and inclusive meeting of all tribes in response to the abduction of Saleh al-Qumayshi, head of the “Dignity Movement” of the al-Wahidi tribes, last Saturday.

In a statement, the tribes decided that the meeting would be held on Sunday to reach serious decisions and engage in dialogue to adopt a firm stance and take decisive action regarding al-Qumayshi’s abduction.

The call emphasized that the meeting’s outcomes and decisions must serve the interests of the district’s tribes and would be expected to determine a firm position regarding al-Qumayshi’s abduction.

On Tuesday, the armed clashes erupted between Laqmoush tribal fighters and UAE-backed factions on the al-Aram road linking Shabwa and Aden.
