TEHRAN, Oct. 26 (YPA) – Iran, Russia, and China jointly sent a message on Saturday to the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, affirming that his mandate to submit reports regarding the Nuclear Deal (JCPOA) and UN Security Council Resolution 2231 has ended after their expiration.
The three countries, in their message reported by the Iranian Tasnim News Agency, indicated that the verification and monitoring mission carried out under Resolution 2231 officially concluded with the expiration of the resolution on October 18, 2025.
The letter asserted that, consequently, the director general is no longer obligated to submit any report on this matter, and that the only binding reference for the Agency’s Technical Secretariat is the resolution issued by the Board of Governors on December 15, 2015.
It also stressed that the invocation of the so-called “snapback mechanism” by the three European states (Britain, France, Germany) lacks legal and procedural basis.
