BOGOTÁ, Oct. 23 (YPA) – Colombian President Gustavo Petro announced yesterday, Wednesday, his intention to defend himself legally in the United States and to pursue American President Donald Trump for defamation, after the latter described him during a press conference as a ” thug “.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Petro shared a video clip of President Trump saying, “He’s a thug, he manufactures a lot of drugs. They have cocaine factories. He should watch out, or we’ll take very tough actions against him and his country.”

Petro responded by stating, “I want to inform the world that I have destroyed 17,000 cocaine factories during my term.”
He added, “I will defend myself legally in US courts, with the help of American lawyers, in response to the slander directed at me on American soil by senior officials.”
