Armed attack targets home of pro-coalition security official in Shabwa

SHABWA, Oct. 22 (YPA) – An armed attack targeted the home of a prominent security official loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa governorate, which is under the control of UAE-backed factions.

Local sources in the city reported that unknown gunmen opened fire on the home of the “commander of rescue” in Shabwa, Ali Al-Dahboul, located in the middle of a densely populated residential neighborhood, before fleeing to an unknown destination.

They confirmed that the armed attack sparked panic and terror among the nearby residents, without mentioning any human casualties.

The sources indicated that the attack on the home of the leader Al-Dahboul is the second since he was subjected to a previous assassination attempt when his car was targeted in the middle of Dirham Street in the city of Ataq in early September 2024, indicating that he has been repeatedly targeted.

The incident comes amid escalating security chaos in Shabwa’s districts, amid accusations that the UAE-backed authorities are unable to maintain security and protect citizens and employees, despite the heavy deployment of more than 50 factions of the “Al-Amaliqa” forces and the “Shabwa Defense” elements funded by the UAE.
