STC militants attack Tawahi Police Station, free prisoner by force

ADEN, Oct. 21 (YPA) -Armed elements affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions on Tuesday evening, stormed the Tawahi Police Station in Aden, which is under Saudi-led coalition control, successfully freeing a prisoner after intense clashes

Local sources reported that the armed group, arriving in military vehicles, fired a barrage of bullets at the Tawahi Police Station to intimidate soldiers and facilitate the raid, ultimately freeing a prisoner after violent clashes

After the heavy gunfire, the armed group successfully breached the police station and forcibly freed a prisoner from his cell before quickly fleeing the scene to un unknown direction.

The sources indicated that pro-coalition authorities immediately opened an investigation to identify the attackers, the group behind the assault, and the motives behind the raid and prisoner release.

This attack is part of the ongoing security chaos plaguing Aden and other southern governorates.
