About 6,000 citizens being deprived of basic health services in Taiz

TAIZ, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Almost 6,000 citizens are deprived of basic health services, due to the closure of the Al-Maqaisi’a Health Unit in Al-Wazi’iyah district, west of Taiz, which is under the control of the UAE-backed Tariq Saleh factions.

Local activists confirmed that the closure has been the result of the complete cessation of financial support and the interruption of incentives and benefits for medical staff since last March.

They pointed out that the unit is the only medical facility for the area’s residents, making its closure a “slow death sentence” for residents, especially the most vulnerable groups.

Activists warned of a potential health disaster and the spread of epidemics in the absence of immediate treatment alternatives.

They called for the immediate resumption of the unit, the provision of sustainable financial support, and the disbursement of delayed incentives to ensure the continuation of life-saving medical care.
