Syria: Israeli occupation forces advance into Al-Quneitra countryside

ALQUNEITRA, Oct. 18 (YPA) – An Israeli occupation patrol of five military vehicles crossed into Syrian territory on Thursday evening, heading towards Tel Al-Karoum town in the middle countryside of Al-Quneitra. The patrol established a makeshift checkpoint on the road between Al-Samdaniyah Al-Sharqiyah and Al-Ajraf villages, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

According to SOHR sources, the patrol’s members inspected passers-by and checked their IDs, before they withdrew to their positions near the border strip.

This coincides with the increasing movements by Israeli occupation forces in Syrian territory, along with increasing operations by patrols and reconnaissance drones in areas adjacent to the occupied Syrian Golan.

SOHR sources reported that Israeli military forces comprising several machineries infiltrated Ruwaihina Village in the central Al-Quneitra countryside and established a checkpoint searching passengers.

On the same context, the occupation forces established a temporary checkpoint on the road between Ain Al-Baida and Ofaniya Villages in Al-Quneitra countryside, with no information regarding any arrests.

This caused a state of public discontent, according the SOHR sources.
