Marwan Barghouti suffers fractures, loss of consciousness due to assault in Israeli occupation prisons
WEST BANK, Oct. 15 (YPA) – The leading prisoner Marwan Barghouti was subjected to a physical assault by eight members of the Israeli “Nachshon” unit last mid-September while being transferred from Rimon Prison to Megiddo Prison, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office said on Wednesday.
The office clarified that the assault resulted in four broken ribs and a loss of consciousness.
This incident comes as the Spokesperson for the Occupation Government, Shosh Bedrossian, affirmed that “Israel” does not intend to release Barghouti, a leading figure in the Fatah movement, as part of the recent prisoner exchange deal.
