SANAA, Oct. 13 (YPA) – A meeting regarding to the humanitarian developments was held on Monday between Yemen and the efforts of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to provide humanitarian, medical, and relief support.
The meeting, which included deputy the Sanaa-based Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ismail Al-Mutawakel, discussed ways to develop coordination mechanisms with the ICRC Regional Director, Nicolas Von Arxto, and Christine Cipolla, ICRC’s head of delegation in Yemen, to the continued delivery of aid to the most needy.
The ministry’s deputy affirmed the full read to support the ICRC’s activities and facilitating its mission, noting the importance of the Regional Director’s visit in strengthening cooperation.
It also praised the ICRC’s continued work in Saada province despite the suspension of other organizations’ activities, considering it a model of impartial humanitarian action.
In a related context, Al-Mutawakel affirmed Yemen’s steadfast position on just causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, reiterating its categorical rejection of the crimes committed against civilians in Gaza.
