Military commander warns of plot against Yemen’s unity, calls on south to take up arm

SANAA, Oct. 10 (YPA) – The commander of the Al-Wahbi Brigades, Major General Bakil Saleh Al-Wahbi, on Tuesday stressed the need to draw lessons from the 14 October Revolution to confront the “new occupiers.”

In a statement made today marking the 62nd anniversary of the 14 October revolution, Brig. Gen. Al‑Wahbi warned of a major conspiracy being orchestrated against southern Yemen and national unity, with support from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and affiliated coalition factions.

Al-Wahbi affirmed that these schemes are exposed and doomed to fail, adding that the ongoing oppression, hunger, looting, and violence in the southern governorates serve as clear evidence that “no good ever comes from an occupier.”

He also urged inhabitants of the southern governorates to take up arms and wage an armed struggle to expel “the occupiers,” just as their ancestors did against the British occupation.
