Head of Hadramout Tribal Alliance sends fiery messages to UAE-backed factions

HADRAMOUT, Oct. 12 (YPA) – The head of the Saudi-backed Hadramout Tribal Alliance, Amr bin Habrish al-Ali, sent fiery messages to his opponents in the Southern Transitional Council, loyal to the UAE, on Sunday.

During the graduation ceremony of the second batch of the Hadramout Protection Forces, Bin Habrish stressed that these forces are there to enhance security and stability in the governorate, noting that he is steadfastly moving forward in building what he called a “solid Hadrami military institution,” amid the silence of the coalition-affiliated government.

Bin Habrish called for unity and Hadrami free will to confront challenges, referring to the UAE-funded factions that moved last week to control the city of al-Hami and the rest of the coastal districts of Al-Shihr district.

For his part, the commander of the Hadramaut Protection Forces, Mubarak Ahmed al-Awbathani, explained that these forces came in response to Hadramout’s needs, to assume the protection of what he called the land, people, and wealth.

He pointed out that “Hadramout today has grown up and is confidently moving toward its independent decision.”

The alliance’s president had announced the formation of the “Hadramout Protection” factions following the declaration of the so-called “self-rule” of the Hadramout administration last April, with support and backing from Saudi Arabia to limit Emirati expansion in the Hadramout Valley districts.
