Resistance fighters attack Israeli positions northwest of Gaza, attempt to capture soldiers

GAZA, Oct. 08 (YPA) –  Northwest of Gaza City witnessed on Wednesday intense battles between Palestinian resistance fighters and Israeli occupation army forces, as a Hamas cell carried out an attack on an Israeli force at a “Golani Brigade” site, according to Hebrew media.

The Israeli occupation army radio reported that a cell of five resistance fighters emerged from a tunnel near the Salah al-Din (“Netzarim”) axis and attacked an Israeli force. It noted that the attack occurred just before the Israeli War Minister, “Katz,” visited the area to meet with the commander of the Golani Brigade near the targeted location.

Hebrew “Channel 12” reported that the cell attempted to kill and capture Israeli soldiers during the assault. Concurrently, other Hebrew media sources indicated that the targeted site in central Gaza is where the Golani Brigade is stationed.

In a similar attack, Hebrew reports stated an attempt was made to abduct another Israeli soldier on the outskirts of the central Gaza Strip. According to Channel 12, a number of the resistance fighters successfully withdrew after carrying out the raid.

These developments point to an escalation in field operations between Palestinian resistance factions and the occupation forces in various areas of the Strip, amid continued Israeli aggressions.
