Hamas demands to turn over bodies of Sinwar brothers in prisoner deal

GAZA, Oct. 08 (YPA) – Hamas movement has demanded the handover of the bodies of Yahya and Mohammed Sinwar, whom the Israeli authorities describe as the architects of the October 7 operation, as part of prisoner negotiations.

According to American Wall Street Journal, the Israeli occupation had previously refused to hand over the body of Yahya Sinwar, who was transferred to a secret location, following his assassination.

The newspaper confirmed that Mohammed Sinwar, who succeeded him as leader of the movement’s military wing, was killed in an Israeli airstrike last May.

It indicated that the movement’s demand comes within the framework of broader negotiations regarding a ceasefire and prisoner exchange, noting that the issue of the bodies of Palestinian leaders has become a senior issue in the ongoing discussions mediated by regional and international powers.
