WASHINGTON, Oct. 08 (YPA) – US President Donald Trump has admitted that settling the Ukrainian crisis may be a more difficult task than settling the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Speaking alongside Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Tuesday, Trump said: “I thought this would have been an easy one to settle, but it’s turned out to be maybe tougher than the Middle East. We’ll see what happens with the Middle East”.
Trump’s remarks come amid continued tensions between Russia and Ukraine, with limited diplomatic progress. Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club, reaffirmed Moscow’s readiness to engage in further dialogue with Washington.
He emphasized the difficulty of reconciling interests, but said lasting agreements can be achieved through open discussion.
