CAIRO, Oct.07 (YPA) – A senior source within the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) revealed on Tuesday that the movement stressed during the Sharm El-Sheikh negotiations the necessity of the release of the last Israeli captive coinciding with the withdrawal of the last soldier from the Gaza Strip.
The source told “Al-Jazeera” TV channel that the second negotiation session between mediators and the movement’s delegation concluded this evening, with discussions focusing on Israeli withdrawal maps and the timeline for the release of captives.
The source explained that the Hamas delegation demanded that each phase of the release of Israeli captives be linked to phases of full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that “the final exchange operation must coincide with the complete and final Israeli withdrawal.”
Furthermore, the movement asserted the need for international guarantees to ensure a permanent cessation of the aggression and a complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces, deeming these conditions fundamental for any agreement that would end the ongoing two-year aggression on Gaza.
