LONDON, Oct. 06 (YPA) – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said it had received confirmed reports of mass executions and sexual violence in the southern province of Al-Suwayda.
According to the head of the UK-based monitoring group, Rami Abdul Rahman, at least 18 cases of rape and several field executions were carried out on sectarian grounds.
“These crimes have not been reported in the media or circulated on social networks,” he said.
He urged the Syrian authorities to confront sectarian rhetoric and focus on building a unified future for the country.
