CALIFORNIA, Oct. 03 (YPA) – An investigation by Annenberg Media revealed that the University of Southern California (USC) has transferred dozens of human cadavers for the training of the Israeli occupation army.
According to the investigation by the university-affiliated news organization, the cadavers were transferred to US security forces and used in specialized medical training for trauma care, all without the explicit consent of the deceased or their families.
The US Navy has already paid USC more than half a million dollars and allows for the purchase of an additional $225,000 worth of cadavers at its discretion, which will raise USC’s total revenue over the past seven years to nearly $1.1 million.
While the three contracts in question represent less than 1% of the total 367 contracts USC has with the Navy, Annenberg Media was unable to find any other US university with similar contracts involving the Israeli military.
According to a medical article published in 2020, the “Combat Trauma Surgery Skills Course,” attended by Israeli Army medics, utilized “fresh human cadavers.” At least 89 bodies have been purchased so far, 32 of which were specifically used to train the Israeli army at the Los Angeles General Medical Center.
These cadavers were provided by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office, which is responsible for cremating and burying unclaimed bodies. The training involved the use of fresh bodies with fluid simulating blood to mimic combat injuries.
Relatives may not claim a body for various reasons, including the cost of burial.
The practical portion of the course was conducted at the Tissue Anatomy Lab, a surgical training facility located inside the historic Los Angeles General Hospital, which serves the training programs of the Los Angeles General Medical Center/USC.
