HADRAMOUT, Sept. 25 (YPA) -Hadramout University on Wednesday called on the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition to immediately pay overdue salaries owed to faculty members and their assistants, warning that continued delays could disrupt the educational process.
In a statement issued by the university’s teaching staff syndicate, teaching assistants, and administrative union, the need for regular salary payments in the coming months was stressed, to enable university employees to meet family obligations and carry out their academic and professional duties.
The statement confirmed that no salaries have been paid since July, worsening the already difficult living conditions faced by university staff.
It called on both the pro-coalition government and the Presidential Leadership Council to assume their responsibilities toward the university’s employees.
The syndicate also warned that it would undertake escalatory measures, to be announced at a later date, and held the pro-coalition government fully responsible for any consequences these actions may have on the educational process at Hadramout University.
