Gaza Health Ministry: Occupation thwarts WHO’s attempts to bring fuel into Gaza hospitals

GAZA, Sept. 17 (YPA) – The Gaza-based Ministry of Health said on Wednesday that the Zionist enemy was deliberately thwarting the World Health Organization (WHO)’s attempts to deliver fuel to hospitals in Gaza, threatening to disrupt medical services.

The ministry’s statement affirmed that the enemy has insisted on preventing the WHO from using alternative routes to deliver fuel to hospitals in the Gaza Strip and north Gaza provinces.

“Stopping the supply of fuel needed to operate generators in Gaza’s hospitals would mean a complete halt to health services,” it warned.

The statement explained that the crisis threatens to halt the operations of the Al-Sahaba Medical Complex, the Public Service Hospital, the Central Oxygen Station, ambulances, and other hospitals.

It called on all concerned parties to urgently intervene to ensure safe access to the fuel needed for hospitals in the Strip.

Since March 2, the Zionist enemy has been closing the Gaza Strip’s crossings to the entry of food, relief, medical aid, goods, and fuel, causing a significant deterioration in the humanitarian situation.

The American-supported Zionist occupation has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 228,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 9,000 missing.
