Bloody clashes in Aden leave one dead, 3 Injured

ADEN, Sept. 06 (YPA) – A young man was killed and three others, including members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions, were wounded in fierce clashes in the center of Aden, a city under the Saudi-led coalition control since the second half of 2015.

Local media sources reported that the confrontation erupted Friday evening between armed individuals from STC factions in the Al-Hashemi neighborhood of the Sheikh Othman district. An initial fistfight escalated into an exchange of gunfire, resulting in the death of a man named Omar Al-Hollandi and injuries to Ahmed Sami and two others.

The sources added that elements linked to the former “Security Belt” leader, Alaa Al-Mashriqi, were involved in the clashes. The fighting reportedly caused panic and fear among residents, with no cause for the incident being mentioned.
