87 agents of “Israel” arrested in Lorestan, western Iran

TEHRAN, July 19 (YPA) – The police commander in Iran’s Lorestan province, Brigadier General Yahya Elahi, announced the arrest of 87 agents linked to the Israeli occupation and their handover to the judicial authorities.

The Brigadier General Elahi stated that the arrests took place during the recent aggression against Iran thanks to intelligence information, good cooperation, and popular support.

He noted that the detainees were charged with “confusing public opinion, sabotage, communicating with foreign intelligence agencies, and possessing explosives.”

Elahi explained that the police in Lorestan province, located in the west of the country, witnessed a significant increase in public confidence during the Israeli aggression, saying that the police received more than 16,000 public reports containing general information within 15 days, which he considered an indicator of the depth of citizens’ cooperation with the security forces.

Earlier this July, the Intelligence Department of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced the arrest of a foreign intelligence agent in Mazandaran Province, northern Iran, who was directing agents abroad to carry out terrorist operations in Iran.

In the same context, Iranian Judiciary Spokesman Asghar Jahangir announced the uncovering of hostile and agent networks within the country, reassuring the people that the judiciary is determined to deal with the cases of those accused of treason and mercenaries with force, speed, and justice.
