LONDON, July 06 (YPA) – The UK police arrested more than 20 people in London on Saturday for protesting against the genocide committed by the Israeli enemy against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and for supporting the “Palestine Action” group.
London’s Metropolitan Police said they had arrested more than 20 people under anti-terrorism laws at a protest in support of the banned Palestine Action group.
This comes after a ban on Palestine Action, came into place last night after the group was officially proscribed under the Terrorism Act.
Last month, the British government banned “Palestine Action” after its activists stormed a Royal Air Force base and damaged two aircraft, in a protest against Britain’s support for the Zionist aggression on Gaza.
Several dozen activists gathered in front of Parliament holding signs reading: “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action.”
Video footage shared on social media shows police arresting several of them while they were chanting in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue.
