AMSTERDAM, June 30 (YPA) – The Dutch city of Almere witnessed a vigil to commemorate the Palestinian children killed in the Israeli war on Gaza.
The event was organized by the “Plant an Olive Tree” organization in the city center’s Stadhuis square.
Thousands of small shoes were placed there as a symbol of the child victims, and volunteers read out a list of the names of the child victims killed in Israeli attacks.
The volunteers also distributed leaflets to passersby explaining the magnitude of the tragedy experienced by children in Gaza under the ongoing Israeli bombardment.
The organization’s director, Esther van der Most, said in a press statement that this is the twelfth time they have organized such vigils.
She added, “We intend to organize such vigils throughout the Netherlands. It is unacceptable to continue to condemn only the killing of children. Israel must stop, and we will continue our struggle until that happens.”
