Palestine Clock destroyed in Israeli strike on Tehran

TEHRAN, June 26 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation fighter jets had launched airstrikes, some of which was the bombing of the famous digital “Palestine Clock” in Palestine Square in the Iranian capital Tehran.

Palestine Clock was erected in 2017 as a symbol of the end of the Israeli occupation by 2040.targeting a number of facilities inside Iran.

The clock was inaugurated during “International Quds Day,” the last Friday of Ramadan in 2017, and the countdown to the end of “Israel” has been begun at 8,411, which indicates to the number of days remaining—according to the Iranian vision—until the end of the occupation.

The clock has become a prominent political and media propaganda tool, used during anti-normalization events and Quds Day celebrations.

Iranian media outlets have also employed it to reinforce the rhetoric of “Israel’s demise” as a pillar of revolutionary doctrine.

The clock, which is being erected by the Revolutionary Guards in central Tehran, has no apparent military value, but its targeting revealed the symbolic dimension of “Israel”‘s recent strategy. It reflected an attempt to strike at one of the most prominent symbols of mobilization that fuels the consciousness of Iranian generations, with an existential and strategic objective.

The attack on the clock once again highlighted the importance of Quds Day in Iran’s strategy, having become a unifying slogan in support of the Palestinian cause.
