Several wounded coalition members protest in Taiz

TAIZ, June 24 (YPA) – A number of wounded, who fought alongside the Saudi-led coalition, staged on Monday a protest rally in Taiz city.

In the rally, the wounded coalition members blocked the gate of the coalition-backed local authorities building in central Taiz, accusing the Aden government of not improving living conditions and neglecting health care.

Human rights sources said that the rally denounced their living conditions that the injured suffer without receiving any medical care.

The participants threatened to storm the office of the General People’s Congress leader, Nabil Shamsan, appointed by the coalition as governor of Taiz.

They demanded that the Taiz’s wounded be treated in the same way as the rest of the wounded in Mocha and Marib, away from the abhorrent regionalism.

They pointed out that the additional sums were being collected in taxes, improvements, and household gas on behalf of the wounded did not benefit them, but went into the accounts of influential local and military leaders.
