Iranian defense minister vows to punish aggressors

TEHRAN, June 24 (YAP) – Iranian Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh said on Monday that his country would punish the aggressor with all its might and it would not accept an imposed peace.

This came during a phone call with his Russian counterpart Andrei Belousov on Monday.

General Nasirzadeh emphasized that Iran is determined to punish the aggressor with all its might.

He thanked Russia for its support and stated that Iran is fighting not only against Israel, but also against the United States, as well as all supporters of “Israel”

“Our decision is to punish the aggressor by all means, and we will not accept an imposed peace,” he added.

“We can make efforts with each other for peace and stability in the region and the world,” said, calling the United States “the source of all problems and instability” in the Middle East.

For his part, the Russian Defense Minister expressed his condolences during the call for the martyrdom of several senior Iranian military commanders and citizens, affirming his country’s full support for the government and people of Iran, according to Iran’s Mehr News Agency.

Andrei Belousov confirmed that the attack on Iranian soil on the nuclear issue was nothing more than an excuse, stressing that the real objective is to weaken the Islamic Republic of Iran and spread this chaos to the entire region.

He added that Russia is closely monitoring developments and will continue to support the Islamic Republic of Iran.
