Spain calls on the European Union to punish “Israel”

SANAA, June 23 (YPA) – Spanish Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albarrez, called on the European Union to be courageous in imposing sanctions on Israel, which continues to commit genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Speaking to reporters before the EU foreign ministers’ meeting in Brussels on Monday, Albarrez explained that he would ask his counterparts to immediately suspend the association agreement between Israel and the European Union, and impose an arms embargo and individual sanctions on those responsible for Israel.

Suspending the partnership, which grants Israel trade privileges, requires a qualified majority of 15 member states representing at least 65 percent of the EU population.

Albarrez noted that he would ask his counterparts at the meeting to be courageous in imposing sanctions on Israel.
