Ayatollah Khamenei: The Zionist enemy is being punished

TEHRAN, June 23 (YPA) -Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stated on Monday that the Zionist enemy is now being punished for its aggression against the sovereignty and territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“The punishment continues. The Zionist enemy has made a big mistake, committed a big crime; it must be punished and it is being punished; it is being punished right now, ” he wrote on X.

His remarks coincided with a new missile attack launched by Iran targeting the occupied territories, during which air raid sirens were activated in multiple areas.

According to claims by the Israeli occupation army, the missiles were intercepted; however, the army’s statement acknowledged that the defense system does not provide 100% protection, which necessitates strict adherence to safety guidelines.

Khamenei’s remarks come amid a sharp escalation following US and Israeli strikes on nuclear facilities inside Iran, which sparked massive protests in the capital, Tehran.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian participated in the demonstrations, condemning what was described as a “blatant aggression” against the country’s sovereignty.
