TEHRAN, June 21 (YPA) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused the US President Donald Trump on Saturday of waging war against Iran.
In statements to the media outlets on the sidelines of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s foreign ministers meeting in Istanbul, Araghchi noted that the United States had betrayed the path of diplomacy and used the negotiating card to cover up Israeli attacks against his country, stressing that Tehran would not abandon uranium enrichment.
“Diplomacy can succeed now, just as it did previously on the nuclear issue,” he added, referring to the agreement on the Iranian nuclear program, from which President Trump announced his country’s withdrawal during his first presidential term.
“No new talks can be held while attacks and assaults on our country continue,” Araghchi clarified. “We have the full right to defend ourselves and respond to attacks targeting us.”
