SANAA, June 20 (YPA) – A senior official in the Sanaa-based government confirmed on Thursday that “Yemen will not stand idly by if the United States becomes involved against the Islamic Republic of Iran”.
In an interview with Al Jazeera Mubasher, Nasr al-Din Amer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), said: “We will stand with Iran, just as we stood with Gaza in the face of Israeli and American aggression.”
Amer added that Yemen didn’t fear America or its threats, pointing to its failure in the recent aggression against Yemen.
He addressed the impact of Iran’s deterrence on the Israeli occupation, and the Tehran’s cards has yet to use in the confrontation.
“But we are ready to fulfill our moral and religious role as an active player in this nation, and this is a duty for all countries in the region,” Amer added. “The US threats against Iran using strategic bombers and aircraft carriers, stressing that they no longer frighten anyone and that Trump has burned these pressure cards in Yemen.”
He said: “We in Yemen have experienced dealing with the B2 and B52 stealth bombers and we know their capabilities, and Iran knows too.”
