Iran’s unveils overhauled fighters to carry 1,500-km range cruise missions
SANAA, July 26 (YPA) – A ceremony on Wednesday, the Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps unveiled 10 overhauled Sukhoi 22 fighter jets which will be equipped with cruise missiles with a range of 1500 kilometers.
Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force, said the pin-pointing air-to-ground cruise missile systems would be mounted on those bombers in the near future.
“After this overhaul, the bomber fighters will be able to carry and use smart and pin-pointing cluster bombs, air-to-ground and air-to-air missiles and transmit data and information from drones from a multiple-kilometer distance, Hajizadeh stated in the ceremony in which IRGC chief Mohammad Ali Jafari was also present.
