Detainee in Islah Party jails in Marib prevents Safer gas supply to southern provinces

MARIB, June 15 (YPA) – A tribal sheikh in the Abida area of Marib province, which is controlled by Islah Party factions loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, on Sunday banned the exit of gas and petroleum product locomotives from the Safer facility to Aden and the southern regions.

Sheikh Ali Salem Aushan Al-Abidi, in a statement, called on fuel locomotive drivers to halt transportation until the release of prisoner Nasser Ali Hussein Aushan.

The statement warned drivers against violating the order without providing any explanation for Aushan’s arrest.

The measure has sparked concerns over potential disruptions to domestic gas supplies and threats to the operation of power plants in Shabwa province.

This development worsens the already dire living conditions in the southern provinces, which continue to face catastrophic challenges, all while the pro-coalition government remains silent.
