SAADA, June 08 (YPA) -An official delegation from the Supreme Political Council visited military positions along Yemen’s Asir border front with Saudi Arabia, Sanaa-based Al-Thawra newspaper reported.
The newspaper stated that local leaders from the border district of Monabbih in Saada province , alongside tribal sheikhs and dignitaries, vidited the Asir and Abwab al-Hadid fronts to mark Eid al-Adha.
The delegation reportedly inspected conditions of stationed forces, praising their resilience in “defending the nation’s sovereignty and independence.”
In a related event, the newspaper said tribesmen from the Bani Khawli region also visited the frontline to exchange Eid greetings with the fighters and delivered a special Eid convoy in appreciation of their sacrifices.
The report stated that the fighters expressed gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed their determination to remain steadfast in the face of ongoing “aggression.”
The visit comes after fierce battles along Yemen’s northern front with Saudi Arabia, which raged for seven years beginning in 2015, before a de-escalation took hold—though no final resolution to end the war has been reached.
