RIYADH, June 07 (YPA) – Dozens of Yemeni pilgrims expressed on Saturday the deep dissatisfaction with a poor organization during their walk from Arafat to Muzdalifah.
They reported that they had been left on the sidewalks for long hours without any care from the pilgrims’ supervisors and bus drivers.
In news statements, the pilgrims confirmed that many drivers were ignorant of the roads leading to the holy sites, causing delays in arriving at Muzdalifah and resulting in dozens of pilgrims getting lost in the traffic.
They pointed out that many of the pilgrims’ supervisors lacked experience, despite the high fees pilgrims paid for their services.
The pilgrims called on the Yemeni Hajj Mission to hold officials accountable, train supervisors, and select experienced drivers.
Activists circulated painful scenes of pilgrims lying on the road, stressing that what happened was a violation of their dignity, called for an urgent investigation and the accountability of those responsible, including the Minister of Endowments and Guidance in the coalition-backed Aden government.
