Female activist arrested after Aden protests

ADEN, June 01 (YPA) – The coalition-backed security forces have summoned a number of female human rights activists for their participation in women’s protests in the southern Yemeni city of Aden.

An official document the so-called “Press and Publications” Department in Aden issued revealed that Sabreen Jalal, a human rights activist, was summoned to respond to a complaint filed by the “Aden Security” on Sunday, without revealing the reasons for the complaint.

On Saturday, Sabreen explained in a Facebook post that she did not know the reason for her sudden summons, adding, “We are all on the side of the law, even if we are accused,” amid widespread solidarity from human rights and media figures in the south.
