Defense Ministry denies targeting of Saudi oil tanker in Red Sea

SANAA, July 25 (YPA) – The Ministry Defense in Sanaa on Wednesday denied the Saudi-led coalition’s claims, which accuse Yemeni naval forces of targeting a Saudi oil tanker in the territorial waters in the Red Sea.

“The coalition accusations is just a habit, to which the enemy resort to cover its crimes against the Yemeni people,” said director of the moral guidance department at the defense ministry, Brig. Gen. Yahya Sarea.

Sarea pointed out that the naval forces had already warned civilian ships from approaching the hostile military barges belonging to the coalition countries.

He assured the international community that the waterway in the Red Sea and the international shipping lines are safe, accusing the coalition countries of working on threatening the navigation routes in order to blackmail the world.

Targeting of the hostile Saudi barge comes in the context of legitimate right to respond and self-defense and repulsing the aggression on the western coast, Sarea said.

He vowed to hit “all targets of the enemy in the western coast and wherever they .”
