Field campaign in Sanaa to confiscate banned “Starlink” devices

SANAA, May 15 (YPA) – The Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology in Sanaa, in cooperation with relevant security authorities, has begun a large-scale field campaign to seize and confiscate banned “Starlink” devices and equipment. This comes after the deadline given to citizens and entities to hand over these devices expired.

The ministry had previously issued an official statement calling on individuals and entities to expedite the delivery of Starlink devices and equipment to the nearest branch of the General Telecommunications Corporation, with this to be completed before May 1, 2025, to avoid any legal action.

An official source at the ministry explained that this campaign aims to limit the use of banned Starlink equipment, as it is considered a threat to national security and community safety, in addition to violating regulations governing the telecommunications sector.
