TAIZ, May 08 (YPA) – The coalition-backed Aden government-affiliated oil company in Taiz province has imposed a new dose on fuel prices, compounding the suffering of citizens amid the ongoing collapse of the Yemeni riyal.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that the oil company raised the price of a 20-liter gallon of diesel from 34,000 riyals to 38,000 riyals, which is equal to $155.42.
This follows a previous increase imposed by the company in late April, when it raised the price of a gallon of diesel by 3,000 riyals. The Taiz Oil Company then added another 1,000 riyals.
The skyrocketing was met with angry reactions from citizens, who described it as a “lethal dose” in the weight of a severe deterioration for an economic situation that targets citizens.
