WASHINGTON, May 05 (YPA) – Over 60 US soldiers had been injured during the task to construct and operate a floating platform off the coast of Gaza Strip, a Pentagon report revealed on Tuesday.
The report by the Department of Defense Inspector General stated that the soldiers were injured while participating in former President Joe Biden’s floating dock in Gaza.
The dock, which Biden announced during a televised address to Congress in March 2024, was a massive project requiring approximately 1,000 US troops to implement.
However, bad weather and challenges within Gaza limited the effectiveness of what the US military described as the largest effort ever undertaken in the Middle East. The platform were operated for only about 20 days, which cost almost $230 million.
